Scientific and practical conference was held among students of universities in the South of Kyrgyzstan in an online format.

On November 19, 2021, a scientific and practical conference of students of universities of Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken regions was held on the topic “Environmental problems in the city of Osh and in the regions”. The participants exchanged information on the best practical measures for youth participation in environmental protection.

This event was organized by the Aarhus Center within the framework of the project “Promoting Green Economy and Environmental Management”.

The event was attended by the teaching staff and students of Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University (KUIU) named after B. Sydykov, Osh State University (Osh State University), Osh Humanitarian Pedagogical University (Osh State Pedagogical University), Batken State University (BSU) and Jalal-Abad State University and Jalal-Abad International University. The scientific and practical conference was attended by specialists of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek and the Committee on Youth Affairs at the Osh City Hall. A total of 44 people participated.

The opening of the conference was made by professor, doctor of biological sciences Samieva Zh .; associate professor, candidate of geographical sciences Kamilova L .; director of the Aarhus Center Isabaev K .and head of the department of magistracy of Osh State University Moldaliev Zh.

The speakers noted the importance of the event and assessed the current environmental situation in the republic and in the world.

Professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences Samieva Zh. she familiarized students with the rules of conducting a scientific and practical conference.

L. Kamilova made a report on “Climate change” at the plenary session.

A total of 34 reports were received.

The received reports of students were heard in 2 sections, where students exchanged presentations and reports on the following topics:

  1. Green economy, climate change, rational use and protection of natural resources, renewable energy sources.
  2. Air and water pollution, their impact and solutions, the current state of plants and wildlife.

At the end, the commission selected the 10 best student papers. They were awarded with valuable OSCE gifts, prizes, diplomas of the Aarhus Center and the Youth Affairs Committee.
