On October 15-16, 2015 in city Osh the Osh area passed the Festival of ecological journalism on which were summed up the results of the Regional Competition “Improvement of Awareness of the Population of Effective Methods of Risk Management of Natural Disasters in the Border Regions of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan”. The OSCE Center in Bishkek with the assistance of the Aarhus Centers of Osh, Bishkek and Khujand of Sughd area of Tajikistan organized this competition. The staff of the OSCE Center in Bishkek, Manav Sachdeva, E.Dzhumakadyrova, K. Nurmatov, E.Payziyev, the OSCE Representative in Tajikistan, Shanzhiv Turachelvam, the chief of regional government of the State inspectorate for ecological and technical safety under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic R. Yusupov, representatives of Regional Center for Emergency Situations, SAEPF, mass media and TV took part in the work of this festival.
In the first working day of the Festival were conducted the presentations by the head of Aarhus Centers of Osh by K. Isabayev (Kyrgyzstan) and Khujand by D. Prudtskikh (Tajikistan) about activity of the organizations; by the coordinator of the CARNet portal in KR I. Chistyakova on a subject “Ecological information in Kyrgyzstan: sources, tendencies, problems”; the master class by the vice-chairman of the Union of journalists of Tajikistan on Sughd area I. Dzhamaliyon on the subject “Experience and Difficulties in Development of Ecological Journalism”. After presentations was organized field visit on radium Moyun LLP mine in the Nookatsky area for acquaintance of the thrown objects on production of uranium and the carried-out shore protection works on a place in the village of Aral.

In the second day, participants of the Festival learned author’s television works of contestants, discussed in small groups the prospect of development of ecological journalism in the region and gave the offers on further cooperation. Then the ceremony of summing up the results of Regional Competition of ecological journalism took place. In general, 35 works applied on competition by members of the media and TV of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which were carefully examined by members of a contest committee. All works were distributed on 4 nominations.
In the nomination “Internet materials”, prize-winning places were received by:
1 place: Majsum Imomov –Khujand, Tadjikistna.
2 place: Sharipov Sheroz –Khujand, Tadjikistan
3 place: Imaraliev Nurida- Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

In the nomination “Printed materials” prizes are awarded to :
1 place: Kasymov Farkhod – Khujand Tajikistan;
2 place: Sanrabiya Satybaldiyeva – Dzhalal Abad Kyrgyzstan;
3 place: Tilav Rasulzoda – Khujand Tajikistan.

In the nomination “TV Materials” prizes are awarded to:
1 place: Arzygul Galymbetova – Batken, Kyrgyzstan;
2 place: Guliza Suvanova – Osh, Kyrgyzstan.

In the nomination “Radio Materials” are awarded to:
1 place: Zhenish Aydarov – Batken, Kyrgyzstan;
2 place: Natalya Dorofeyeva – Khujand, Tajikistan;
3 place: Artykov Sultan – Batken, Kyrgyzstan.

Also for interesting and highly professional materials in the field of ecological safety Certificates of honor of the State inspectorate for ecological and technical safety under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on the Osh area were handed by the chief of regional government R. Yusupov. On behalf of the Ministry of emergency situations of the Kyrgyz Republic the telegram to participants of the Festival with gratitude and an appreciation of activity of members of the media and TV in questions of prevention of natural disasters in Kyrgyzstan was directed. Some participants of the Festival were presented to rewarding with Diplomas of the ministry which will be handed on November 7 in Day of journalism of the Kyrgyz Republic.
