On September 24, 2024, a seminar for employees of the Alamedin Municipal Territorial Management Unit was held in the village of Alamedin, Sverdlovsk district, Bishkek. The main objective of this seminar was to familiarize the participants with the work of the Aarhus Center, explain the provisions of the Aarhus Convention, inform about the environmental situation in Bishkek and suburban settlements, and answer questions of interest in the field of the environment.

In the second part of the meeting, a presentation was given by an expert of the Aarhus Convention on the topic of “Application of the principles of the Aarhus Convention in the framework of the implementation of new legislative amendments to the land legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic. Here, the expert gave explanations regarding the application of amendments and innovations to the land legislation related to local authorities.

In conclusion, the participants expressed gratitude for the event and wished to hold more frequent meetings in the future to inform the public about ongoing processes in the environmental sphere.
