Trainings for state inspectors

On June 26, 2019, the training “Conduction of Industrial and Public Environmental Monitoring for SIETS Inspectors” began in the city of Batken. The trainings are designed for all regional departments of the State Inspectorate for Environmental and Technical Safety under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic

This event was organized by the Aarhus Center in Osh in collaboration with the SIETS under the framework of project of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek “Environmental Safety and Natural Resources Management”.

It was attended by state environmental inspectors on land, water resources, subsoil protection, mining and industrial supervision of regional offices in the cities of Sulukta, Batken, Batken and Leilek districts and in the village of Aidarken, Kyzyl-Kiya and Kadamzhai district of Batken region. A total of 12 state inspectors participated.

At the beginning, the director of the Aarhus Center, K. Isabaev, briefed the participants on the draft OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, on the activities of the Aarhus Center in the city of Osh, and presented the trainers. The training was led by OSCE international consultant A. Abduvaliev and OSCE national consultant T. Neronova.

In the process, the trainers together with the participants discussed the topics: “Industrial Environmental Monitoring”, “Atmospheric Air Protection”, “Water Resources Protection”, “Waste Management and Land Protection” and “Public Environmental Monitoring”.

During the training, the mentors answered the participants’ questions, discussed with them what they need to pay attention on when checking production and other facilities, and asked them to submit an application for the equipment they need, which the inspector badly needs.

In addition, participants were handed out a methodological guide for environmental safety inspectors of the State Inspectorate of Environmental and Technical Safety during inspections, the Hunting Minimum guidelines and information sheets of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) for World Environment Day in 2019, issued with financial support OSCE Program Office in Bishkek.

Upon completion, K. Isabaev and acting head of the RA SIETS in the cities of Sulukta and Batken, Batken and Lyaylek districts Mamanasir uulu Almazbek expressed gratitude to all participants for their active participation, wished them success in their work. Participants received certificates of participation in the training.
