Head of the Aarhus Centre in Bishkek Adil Nurbekov attended the annual meeting with members of Aarhus Centers, which took place on July 1st, 2015 in Astana with the support of the OSCE.

The participants discussed ways to enhance the role of Aarhus Centers in providing access to environmental information and justice, as well as a more focused implementation of its activities, and considered the possibility of increasing the degree of public participation in decision-making on environmental issues and и acquainted with best practices in the field of experts and representatives from Aarhus Centers in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

After the meeting was held a training session on the legal aspects of the sustainability of the Centers, the issues of rising funds and interaction with public authorities, civil society, as well as with the business community and the media.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Aarhus Centre of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 30 for civil servants, judges of the Supreme Court, environmental non-governmental organizations and the heads of 14 Aarhus Centres operating in Kazakhstan.
