Aarhus Centers conducted trainings for employees of the MNRETS KR

In the city of Naryn on September 19, 2023, Cholpon-Ata on September 21, Bishkek on September 26 and Talas on September 28, 2023, employees of the Naryn, Issyk-Kul, Chui-Bishkek, Talas territorial departments, the Environmental and Technical Service were trained security and the central apparatus of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic (MNRETS KR). This training was conducted on the basis of the signed Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Kyrgyz Republic and the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek. The organizers of this training were MPRETN represented by the curator of the Aarhus Convention Kazakbaev N.M. – Head of the Department of Regulatory Support and the Aarhus Center in Bishkek with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek.

During the training, trainer of the Aarhus Center in Bishkek N.S. Baidakova. gave complete information about the Aarhus Convention, its basic principles and methods of application in government work. The materials developed by the trainer have already been used during the first cycle of training for MNRETS employees in September-October 2021. During this time, MPRETN was transformed several times and replenished with new employees. In this regard, there was a need to conduct training for new specialists of the ministry, who will directly apply the principles of the Aarhus Convention in their daily work.

During the training, all participants received training materials, a manual about the Aarhus Convention, bulletins with questions and answers on the Aarhus Convention, and reference books on environmental legislation. Training participants can use all these materials in their work and apply the acquired knowledge when solving environmental problems. At the end of the training, on behalf of the organizers, each participant was presented with certificates of participation.
