Announcement of the start of preparation of the National Report on the implementation of the Aarhus Convention for posting on the MNRETS website and social media networks

The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic has begun preparation of the seventh National Report on the implementation of the UNECE Aarhus Convention “On access to information, public participation in decision-making and access to justice on environmental issues” in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2021-2024 years.

The Kyrgyz Republic joined the Aarhus Convention in 2001 (Law of the Kyrgyz Republic dated January 12, 2001 No. 5) and thereby assumed obligations to implement the provisions of the convention and provide regular reports.

The process of preparing the National Report involves public participation at the national level, which is an extremely important aspect of the reporting mechanism.

In this regard, the Ministry calls on you to take an active part in the preparation of the Report, to share information about the practical experience of your organization in implementing the provisions of the Aarhus Convention and the obstacles encountered in their implementation. We are waiting for constructive proposals and information for inclusion in the draft Report by September 20, 2024.

The draft National Report will subsequently be posted on the website for discussion and, after it has been finalized, taking into account comments and suggestions, will be sent to the Convention Secretariat.

Information about the process of preparing the National Report, format and requirements will be presented at a round table on August 26 of this year. (10.00-12.00) in the conference room of the MPRETN. We invite you to take part!
