On the eve of the celebration of World Environment Day, the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center held 2 eco-events with the participation of the region’s public.

In order to implement the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic “On urgent measures to preserve the ecology of Lake Issyk-Kul” dated April 26, 2022 No. 131 and in accordance with the order of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Issyk-Kul region dated April 30, 2024 No. 89 “ In order to prepare and successfully conduct the summer tourist season of 2024”, on June 4, 2024, a training seminar was held on June 4, 2024 in the conference hall of the sanatorium “Blue Issyk-Kul” in Cholpon-Ata on the topic: “Effective use of wastewater treatment facilities in recreation areas of the Issyk-Kul region . Problems of maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and solutions.” This event was held in order to improve the professional skills of operators and ensure high-quality operation of treatment facilities. The seminar was organized by the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center together with the regional department of the Ministry of Natural Resourcses, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic. After lunch, the seminar participants visited the treatment facilities of the Kapriz and Borbor boarding houses and became familiar with their work and the features of environmental measures.

And on June 7, 2024, the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center organized a cleanup day in the city of Cholpon-Ata.Employees of the mayor’s office of the city of Cholpon-Ata, employees of the municipal enterprises “Tazalyk” and “Zelenstroy”, residents of the city and nearby villages took part in the cleanup. In total, 135 people took part in the cleanup, who cleaned up the central street of Cholpon-Ata, Ch. Aitmatov Alley and the adjacent territory of the Rukh-Ordo cultural center. This event was held with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, which provided equipment with garbage bags and gloves for each participant.
