Seminars on the protection of flora and fauna were held for members of the public foundations “Ecotartip” and “Bek-Tosot”.
From August 30 to September 10, 2022, seminars on the protection of flora and fauna were held for members of the public foundations (OF) “Ecotartip” and “Bek-Toot” in the Nookat, Chon-Alai districts of Osh region and Toktogul district of Jalal-Abad region.
These events were organized by the Aarhus Center in Osh as part of the project of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek “Promoting Green Economy and Environmental Management”, with the participation of members of the Ecotartip and Bek-Tosot, local activists, representatives of the Osh and Jalal-Abad regional departments of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision (MNRETS KR) . A total of 55 people participated.
The opening of the seminars was addressed by the Director of the Aarhus Center K. Isabaev also told about the activities of the Aarhus Center. The head of the state administration of Toktogul district, Akim A. Tyukebayev noted the importance of this event and wished everyone fruitful work and effective interaction.
The specialist of the Aarhus Center A. Matisaev presented to the participants presentations on “The rights and obligations of public associations for the protection of wildlife”, “The Law on Environmental Protection”, “The Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on Offenses”.
Representatives of the Osh and Jalal-Abad regional departments of the Ministry of National Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic and experts H. Murzaev, T. Karimov and B. Zhaparov told about the rules of hunting in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and about the facts of violations of legislation in the protection of wildlife. They noted the importance of interaction and cooperation between state inspectors and representatives of public associations in the fight against environmental violations on the ground.
Sharp questions were asked by the participants. The experts gave exhaustive answers and consulted the members of the Ecotartip and Bek-Tosot on drawing up work plans.
35 sets of posters on the species of animals, birds and plants listed in the Red Book of the Kyrgyz Republic, published by the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, were distributed to the participants of the events.
At the end of the events, the Director of the Aarhus Center K. Isabayev thanked the participants and expressed readiness for cooperation in the field of environmental protection.
