Round table “Participation of representatives of the public and youth in solving environmental problems. Ways to achieve results”
On November 20th, 2019 in Issyk Kul national university named by K.Tynystanov under the finance support of the program office OSCE in Bishkek the round table was conducted on the topic of “Participation of representatives of the public and youth in solving environmental problems. Ways to achieve results ”, organized by Issyk Kul Aarhus Center. The professors and students took active part in the round table.
The dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Physical Education K. Osmonbaeva made a welcoming speech, she thanked the organizers of the round table, briefly outlined the environmental problems of the city of Karakol and asked the participants to actively participate in the round table.
The manager of the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center S. Tursunakunov made a presentation on the Aarhus Convention and principles. He gave information on the work done for the years 2018-2019.
The student of the faculty of Geography, A.Abdieva, presened about the main ecological problems of ciy Karakol.
The dean of the faculty of natural sciences and physical education K. Osmonbaeva made a presentation on the topic “Environmental assessment of the state of green spaces of the city of Karakol, development of practical recommendations to improve their condition.”
A group of teachers and she herself are working on the environmental problem of green spaces in the city of Karakol. A practical recommendation for landscaping is being developed for the city of Karakol, tree species for planting are being determined, and will be further recommended to the mayor’s office of the city of Karakol. In this case, the abilities of plants were analyzed; the absorption of carbon dioxide, trap dust, reduce noise, oxygen evolution.
In addition, the participants were shown a video about the state of Lake Issyk-Kul, about underwater garbage, there were proposals to improve the ecology of Issyk-Kul, the city of Karakol. There were many questions raised regarding the activities of the Aarhus Centers, they asked to hold such round tables in rural areas with the participation of the population, to introduce environmental lessons in schools, to conduct a wide explanatory work among the population.
