Today, on October 28, 2021, in the assembly hall of Bishkek State University named after Kusein Karasayev, a conference on the topic “Water. Climate. Youth”, dedicated to the upcoming global environmental forum CO-OP 26. This conference was organized by the Aarhus Center Bishkek, the NGO “Global Water Partnership” and Bishkek State University with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek. The conference was attended by Deputy Director of the State Agency for Water Resources of the Kyrgyz Republic A.S. Dzhaylobaev, Vice-Rector of BSU G.M. Murzakhmedova, Head of the Department of Economics and Ecology of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, Regional Coordinator of the GWP of Transcaucasia, Central Asia and Mongolia G. Nurmukhamedova, who made welcoming remarks to the participants of the conference.

After all the greetings, presentations were made. The first speakers were A.S. Dzhaylobaev and G.S. Satymkulova, the head of the Kyrgyz part of the secretariat of the Chu-Talas Water Management Commission, who provided information about their activities. The second was an expert in the field of climatology Z.Kretova, who made a presentation on a topic “Climate change: facts and figures”. This presentation was carefully heard by the student team, who showed keen interest. And the third presentation on the topic “The role of youth in actions to combat climate change”, presented by the regional coordinator of the Network “Youth of Central Asia for Water” (CAY4W) Ch.Aitakhunova completely captivated the audience.

At the end of the conference there were speeches from the participants of the conference and questions of interest were asked, to which corresponding answers were given. After the closing of the conference, our speakers continued to give answers to questions in an already working environment.
