A meeting with members of the Environmental Club and students was held at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek University.
On May 12, 2021, the Kyrgyz-Uzbek University hosted “Meeting with members of the Environmental Club and students to discuss the implementation of joint activities and ideas for future events.” This event is organized by the Aarhus Center within the framework of the project “Promoting a Green Economy and Environmental Management”. The event was attended by representatives of the Committee for Youth Affairs, members of the Environmental Club, teachers and students, Osh Humanitarian and Pedagogical University, Osh State University, Osh State Law Institute, Osh Technological University. academician M. Adyshev and Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after B. Sydykov. A total of 52 participants participated.
The opening of the meeting was made by the director of the Aarhus Center K. Isabaev He informed the participants about the activities of the Center for the implementation of the Aarhus Convention in the Kyrgyz Republic. He told the participants about the three events planned by the Aarhus Center for 2021 and asked them to actively participate in these events.
Chairman of the Committee on Youth Affairs of Osh I. Berkhmamatov spoke about the activities carried out jointly with the Aarhus Center. The Youth Affairs Committee has been actively involved as a partner of the Aarhus Center since 2017. He encouraged young people to actively participate in environmental protection activities.
Associate Professor of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after B. Sydykov, candidate of geographical sciences, L. Kamilova informed the participants in detail about the events held at the university in cooperation with the Aarhus Center.
Associate Professor of Osh State University A. Abdykaarov pointed out the importance of the website of the Aarhus Centers in Kyrgyzstan. This site contains informative, useful and scientific information for students and teachers. He noted the importance of information on environmental regulations. Students can use the materials of this site for the preparation of term papers and theses.
Professor of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University. B. Sydykova, Doctor of Biological Sciences Zh. Samieva thanked the Aarhus Center for the results of the work done and for cooperation.
OSLU teacher D. Kozhakunova gave examples of human impact that has a negative impact on the environment. At the Osh State Law Institute, courses on environmental law are planned and conducted for students. In the future, OSLU students will take an active part in events organized by the Aarhus Center.
The specialists of the Aarhus Center A. Zayyrbekov, A. Matisaev provided brief information on the events held for youth and students in 2020, on the events to be carried out in 2021. The meeting participants discussed plans of events for 2022.
At the end, the director of the Aarhus Center K. Isabaev thanked all the participants for their active participation and wished the students success in their studies. Three types of posters about animals, birds and plants included in the Red Book of the Kyrgyz Republic, published by the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, were distributed to universities.
