Big cleanup took place in Issyk-Kul
On the occasion of the World Environment Day, the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center addressed the Authorized Representative Office of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Issyk-Kul region with an initiative to hold a garbage collection campaign in the Issyk-Kul region. The representative office supported our initiative and sent letters to all the district state administrations of the Issyk-Kul region.
On June 5, 2021, this action was held in the Issyk-Kul region. The action in the city of Karakol began with a gathering of participants at the city stadium. The action was opened by 1-Vice-mayor of Karakol S.Oskonbayev, he congratulated the participants on the World Environment Day and expressed gratitude to the organizers.
The manager of the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center S. Tursunakunov gave brief information on the activities of the Aarhus Centers and distributed gloves, T-shirts, caps, garbage bags, shovels and rakes to the participants.
The action was held in parks, along city streets, in the courtyards of residential districts of Karakol, as well as on the beach of the village of Pristan-Przhevalsk.
The similar actions were held in Issyk-Kul, Tyup, Ak-Suu, Jeti-Oguz, and Ton districts. Labor collectives of district administrations, aiyl okmotu, organizations-institutions, medical and health institutions actively participated, the total number of participants was about 1,500 people, and the fixed areas were cleared of garbage.
The Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center expresses its deep gratitude to the Authorized Representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Issyk-Kul region, all district state administrations, the mayor’s office of Karakol, the labor collectives of Ayil okmotu, organizations, institutions, and health-improving institutions for their active participation in the campaign.
