On April 12, 2024, in the conference hall of the Plaza Hotel, the Aarhus Center in Bishkek, with the assistance of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, together with the National Association “Kyrgyz Jayit”, held a round table on the topic “Discussion of proposals for amendments to the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of environmental protection ” The event was attended by the Chairman of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Kenzhebaev, employees of the Ministry of Agriculture and its departments, representatives of the Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, research institutes in the field of agriculture, employees of FAO, the Tax Inspectorate of the Kyrgyz Republic, pasture committees of the Chui and Batken regions, WUAs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kyrgyz Jayit association.

Presentations were made by Egemberdiev A. – General Director of the National Association “Kyrgyz Jayit” on the topic “Proposed amendments to the environmental legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of environment”, Tuleev T. – Director of the PIU of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, who presented the implementation of the planned project topics for 2024 and subsequent years in the field of agriculture, Omorov S. is a specialist at the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, who made a presentation on the topic “Untapped potential of pasture resources: challenges and reality.”

During the discussion of the presentations, representatives of the ministry, the SI Institute under the RKR, pasture committees, the Association and others made their proposals.

Based on the results of the round table, recommendations were adopted, which, after formalization, will be sent to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
