In 1980-1985, the development of the Akart marble deposit was started at the Kur-Tektir site of the Zhany-Nookat rural district. A technological road was laid, a base for equipment and workers was built. The Akart site is located 40 km from the administrative center of Zhany-Nookat rural district, among dense juniper forests. On this site, pasture land has been allocated for Zhany-Nookat and Bel-Oruk village administrations of Nookat region. There was no industrial extraction of marble at the site.
In 2017, Aldayar-Ugol Limited LLC received license No. 5406 TE for the development of the marble deposit at the Akart site. After the monitoring conducted at the Akart site by the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic LLC “Aldayar-Ugol Limited” has been refused to issue a positive conclusion of the state environmental expertise.
During the monitoring at the Akart site of the Zhany-Nookat rural district, it was established that the quarry was abandoned, no reclamation work was carried out. Since the closure of the quarry in 1985, no work has been carried out on the development of the marble deposit. This fact was confirmed by the chief specialist of the SEITS inter-regional management for the Nookat and Aravan districts and representatives of the Zhany-Nookat rural district.
