On August 23-24, 2017, in the Information Aarhus Center in Osh with the financial support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, a two-day regional training was held for state inspectors of the State Inspectorate for Environmental and Technical Safety under the Government, attended by young state inspectors of the SEITS of regional offices in Batken, Jalalabad and Osh regions, employees of the Osh territorial department of environmental protection SAEPF and the media.

This training was conducted by the Information Aarhus Center in Osh together with the State Inspectorate for Environmental and Technical Safety under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the project “Strengthening Environmental Security in Kyrgyzstan through the Green Economy, Disaster Reduction and Implementation of the Aarhus Convention”, implemented with the support of the OSCE.

Fourteen state inspectors participated training.

Participants of the training discussed normative legal acts in the field of environmental protection and environmental safety. During the training, the implementation of the requirements of the laws in environmental protection, protection of atmospheric air, solid domestic waste, industrial waste, forestry, water, land were discussed. Experienced inspectors told the situation on compliance with the requirements for industrial ecology, mining supervision and industrial waste. The staff of the Center presented methods of conducting Environmental Monitoring and sampling of water and soil. Participants discussed the compliance with the requirements of water protection zones of rivers, lakes, reservoirs and canals. Participants from the regions made proposals for joint activities with the Aarhus Center on informing and participating the public, ensuring environmental safety in the field.

At the end of the training, the participants were awarded certificates and distributed the following manuals:

5. Practical recommendations for conducting public monitoring of the state of the environment
