Joint event with Eco-Police

On September 24, 2025, a round table was held in the conference hall of the Karakol Mayor’s Office, organized by the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Centre on the topic: “Joint activities of the Issyk-Kul Regional Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic with the Tourism-Ecological Police, and public organizations on preserving the ecology of Issyk-Kul. Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic on Environmental Protection.”

The following participated in the round table: M. Kyshtobaev (Head of the Issyk-Kul Regional Department of the MNRETS KR), K. Tentimishev (Head of the Service for Ecological and Technical Supervision), M. Abdraev (Deputy Head of the Issyk-Kul Oblast Internal Affairs Department for Public Relations, Police Lieutenant Colonel), representatives from the Issyk-Kul Oblast Department of Fisheries, the Ministry of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, and officers of the Tourism-Ecological Police, along with environmental experts.

During the round table, information was provided on the activities of the Tourism-Ecological Police, hunting rules for wild animals, fishing regulations, the methodology for charging fees for environmental pollution, rules for using water transport, civil liability for maintaining atmospheric air quality, combating poaching, and environmental offenses.

Staff from the National Academy of Sciences provided extensive information on endemic fish species of Issyk-Kul, fish species introduced to Issyk-Kul from other regions, fish spawning periods, species listed in the Red Book, and answered participants’ questions.

Experts provided detailed explanations to the Tourism-Ecological Police officers regarding the calculation of environmental damage, hunting and fishing rules, anti-poaching measures, hunting ground boundaries, and permitted fishing zones in Issyk-Kul. At the end of the round table, officers of the Tourism-Ecological Police were presented with a collection of regulatory legal acts.
