On September 14, 2016 in the building of the House of Youth in Naryn public discussion was held. Discussion was on report “About water reserves of the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the changes to the Law on “Water”. These changes have been made by Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and is being discussed in the second reading. Aarhus Centre in Bishkek held a discussion with the participation of the public and civil society of Naryn region in order to clarify the situation in this area and bring the information to the public on the necessary amendments to the Law on “Water”.

Rapporteur on this issue has been an expert consultant of Aarhus Centre Djailoobaev A., who for several years studying the problem of water resources of the Kyrgyz Republic. He submitted his report in which he told the audience about the situation today with the water reserves in the country’s regions,  problems of wasteful attitude to water reserves, the need of review the NLA for the settlement and the careful use of water as the state structures and population.

During the discussion, the participants of the report have been affected by the problems in the Naryn region in the field of water resources, drinking water, on the situation in the environment, a lack of control on the part of state agencies in matters of environmental protection. Many complaints have been addressed to the environmental services and structures to prevent violations in the field of environmental protection.
