On October 15, 2022, a round table was held at the Plaza Hotel, at which a brochure was presented on the work of the NGO Ayalzat Bulagy in promoting gender equality in Kyrgyzstan. The roundtable itself was organized by the Aarhus Center in Bishkek in partnership with the GWP of Kyrgyzstan with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek.

The brochure was developed by the team of the NGO “Ayalzat Bulagy” under the leadership of K. Musabayeva; The material described in detail the work of the public organization since its inception in 2005. The brochure was published under the title “Participation of women in Kyrgyzstan in the management and use of water resources.”

This booklet will be distributed to stakeholders to learn from the experience of this organization in helping women to resolve issues on the ground and create the necessary conditions for careful attitude to water resources. During the speeches, the presenters discussed the role of women’s organizations in increasing the authority of women in decision-making and easing social tensions in contentious water issues.

At the end of the round table and the presentation of the brochure, the participants noted the need to disseminate the experience of women’s organizations and the need for a wider coverage of women.
