Forest monitoring of the Zheti-Oguz region
On June 12-June 2020, within the framework of the approved plan for 2020, the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center, together with employees of the Issyk-Kul Territorial Administration of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry, monitored the forests of the Zheti-Oguz region.
The leading specialist of the Department of Forest Ecosystems and Hunting Resources Ulanbekov Tilek was involved in this event as a consultant. The following technical tasks were assigned to the consultant.
- inspection of the forest condition of the Zheti-Oguz region
- identification of forest pollution and the presence of various debris
- organic state of the forest
- influence of forest on the well-being and health of people
- influence of forest on the flora and fauna of the region.
During the monitoring, the forests of the 32-quarter of the 11,10,45,16,17,18-allotments were examined, trees with diseases were not found. To increase the area of forests young spruce trees were planted; to protect against livestock, the area around is fenced.
In addition, foresters carry out explanatory work with herders and citizens working in the field of tourism.
A special covered place for rubbish is provided; there are garbage bins. In the summer, tenants carry out garbage collection every three days.
But despite all these efforts, as a result of indifferent relations to the nature of some citizens, there are plastic bottles and plastic bags among the trees along the rivers.
After the introduction of restrictions on livestock grazing, the state of grass cover of the land has significantly improved.
Based on the monitoring results, proposals will be given to local authorities and relevant state bodies.
