On October 12, 2019, in the conference room of the Osh Humanitarian Pedagogical Institute, a Scientific and Practical Conference of students of Osh universities studying in ecology and environmental protection presented on the topic “Environmental protection, rational use of natural resources, ensuring environmental and radiation safety and implementation Aarhus Convention. ” was helded

This event was organized by the Aarhus Center in Osh together with the Committee for Youth Affairs at the Osh City Hall and the Regional Office of the State Inspectorate for Environmental and Technical Safety under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic for Osh as part of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek’s project “Environmental Security and natural resource management. ”

73 people took part in it: employees of the Committee on Youth Affairs at the Osh City Hall, SIETB in Osh, Rector and Vice-Rector, deans, laboratory assistants, students of Osh city universities, representatives of the Yntymak OTRK and public organizations.

The opening speech were made by the Director of the Aarhus Center K. I. Isabaev, Rector of the State Pedagogical Institute, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor B. B. Zuluyev and Chief Specialist of the Committee on Youth Affairs Zaripbek uulu Sanatbek.

The conference topics covered a number of modern areas in the field of environmental safety, environmental protection. The following issues were considered during the conference:

• ecological situation in Osh;
• problems of protecting water resources in the south of Kyrgyzstan and ways to solve them;
• improving the legislative and regulatory framework to ensure environmental safety in Kyrgyzstan;
• problems of industrial waste disposal in Kyrgyzstan;
• problems and prospects of environmental education;
• environmental and radiation safety in the country;
• the current state of flora and fauna of Kyrgyzstan;
• problems of atmospheric air of the country;
• land degradation in Kyrgyzstan, analysis of factors and ways to solve problems.

In total, 29 scientific reports were heard at plenary and breakout sessions. Following the conference, winners and active participants were awarded with certificates, diplomas and prizes. And also for the preparation of students for the conference, teachers and laboratory assistants of universities were awarded diplomas and prizes.

The purpose of this event is:

• youth appeal for environmental protection;
• increasing the intellectual level of students;
• raising public speaking skills;
• cooperation of students from different universities.

At the end of the conference, a resolution was adopted.

Upon completion, the leaders of partner organizations thanked all participants for their active participation, wished them success in their studies and work.

The event for the scientific conference will be broadcast on the Yntymak OTRK on October 14, 2019 at 19.00.
