A meeting was held with members of the Advisory Council at the Aarhus Center in Osh
On March 13, 2024, the Aarhus Center held an online meeting with members of the Advisory Council. This event was organized within the framework of the project “Promoting Green Economy and Environmental Management”.
This meeting was attended by the heads of the Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken regional departments of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic Mamashov T., Tomaev S., Mamataliev A., independent expert in the field of ecology and environmental protection Soronkulov G., associate professor Department of Osh State University Abdykaarov A., Chairman of the Youth Committee at the Osh City Hall Zhusupbekov Zh. and specialists from the Aarhus Center.
Director and specialist of the Aarhus Center K. Isabaev, A. Matisaev provided information on the activities carried out in 2023 and work plans for 2024. The participants discussed work plans for 2024 and expressed their readiness to assist and cooperate in the implementation of the plans.
At the end of the meeting, members of the Advisory Council discussed the following future plans for environmental protection and improvement of the environmental situation
in Osh, Jalal-Abad, Batken regions:
1) planting walnut seedlings in the territory of Suzak, Toguz-Torouz districts along the alternative North-South road;
2) The initiative to plant seedlings along the Bishkek-Jalal-Abad-Osh-Batken road was discussed. Providing seedlings free of charge from NGO “Orchun”
3) distribution of walnut seedlings grown at the nursery throughout the Republic
4) work was discussed to ensure radiation safety and remediation work at sites in the village of Kyzyl-Zhar in the city of Tash-Kumyr, in the Too-Moyun section of the Nookat district.
Director of the Aarhus Center K. Isabaev thanked the members of the Advisory Council for their active participation in organizing events and contribution to the implementation of the Aarhus Convention.
