A meeting with representatives of the district authorities and state structures of the district took place in At-Bashy
On May 14, 2022 a round table on the implementation of the Aarhus Convention was held in the village of At-Bashi in Naryn district in the building of the Akimat with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek together with the Karatal-Zhapyryk State Nature Reserve. The round table was attended by the deputy akim of the At-Bashy district, Abdyzhaparov Bolot, representatives of the Karatal-Zhapyryk, Bugu-Marala State Nature Reserve, ecotechnical inspectorate and the heads of aiyl okmotu (Kazybek, Karasuu, Ak-Moyun, Ak-Zhar, Bash-Kayyndy, At-Bashy, etc.), the Department of Emergency Situations for At-Bashinsky district and secondary school teachers. A total of 27 people took part.
The round table was opened by Samat Kalmuratov, manager of the Naryn Aarhus Center, who presented information about the goals and objectives of the center, about the work done over 2 years and also spoke about cooperation with the Institute for Mountain Societies Research (IMSR) at the University of Central Asia. Then the representatives of the Karatal-Zhapyryk State Nature Reserve and Ecotechnical Inspection presented the activities of the reserve, spoke about the successful projects that they have implemented and plans for the future.
During the meeting, representatives of the akimat gave information that there is a landfill in the village of Ak-zhar, which has not been fenced for a long time, and in windy weather, the garbage scatters and has to be collected again. Cows enter the territory of the landfill, children play nearby. This landfill is not fenced due to lack of funds. Residents of this area were interested in how and where it is possible to write projects for fencing this landfill.
Samat Kalmuratov, manager of the Aarhus Center, provided full information about the area in which such activities are carried out and where they can apply. They were very interested in MSRI projects and expressed their desire for cooperation.
During the seminar, representatives of the Karatal-Japyryk nature reserve signed an agreement on the rational use of natural resources with the heads of the aiyl oktomu Kazybek and Kara-Koyun.
At the end of the event, the participants expressed their gratitude to the Naryn Aarhus Center for such an opportunity and noted that the activities of the Aarhus Center are important for residents, as it raises urgent environmental problems and helps to solve them. There were those who heard about the Narny Aarhus Center for the first time. We left our data so that they could contact us, and the Heads of the Aiyl Okmotu offered to hold such seminars in each Aiyl Okmotu.
