An essay competition was held among schoolchildren of the Kulundu ayil okmotu of the Leilek district of the Batken region
On May 23-24, 2022, the Aarhus Center in Osh, together with the Batken Regional Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic (BRU MNRETS KR), summed up the results of an essay competition on the theme “Nature of my land” among students of 8 schools of Kulunda ayil okmotu.
This competition is dedicated to the Year of Protection of Mountain Ecosystems and Climate Resilience in the Kyrgyz Republic and is organized within the framework of the OSCE project “Promoting Green Economy and Environmental Management”.
The competition was attended by students of grades 6-7-8-9-10-11 of secondary schools named after Razzakov, Maksata, Bel-Alma, Bulak-Bashi, V. I. Lenin, Kyrgyzstandyn 40 zhyldygy, T. Zholdoshev, No. 2 gymnasium school. The purpose of this event was to educate schoolchildren in the principles of respect for the environment, increase interest and improve the attitude of students to the nature of their region. A total of 170 written works were received. At the award ceremony and closing of the event, Deputy head of the Kulundinsky aiyl Okmotu A. Asralov and school principals thanked the organizers.
To evaluate the essays, a commission was created, consisting of Aarhus Center specialists A. Matisaev, A. Zaiyrbekov, software engineer of the BRU MNRETS KR Muratali kyzy Nuriz, state inspector for ecology of the Leilek region A. Maripov and specialist S. Gulzhigitova. As a result, the authors of 42 essays were selected for promotion.
Director of the Aarhus Center K. Isabayev and the head of the control and inspection service department of the BRU MNRETS KR A. Mamataliev awarded the winners of the competition with the following valuable prizes of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek and the Aarhus Center in Osh:
8 students who took 1st place in the competition were awarded school backpacks, T-shirts, pens and diplomas of the Aarhus Center and BRU MPRETN KR;
8 students who took 2 places were awarded headphones, books and diplomas of the Aarhus Center and BRU MNRETS KR;
8 students who took 3 places were awarded books and diplomas of the Aarhus Center and BRU MNRETS KR;
18 students who took 4-5-6 places were awarded books.
The teachers who assisted in the competition were awarded letters of thanks from the BRU MNRETS KR.
In addition, the organizers of the competition got acquainted with the exhibition of posters, paintings and models, handicrafts from secondary raw materials dedicated to the environment and prepared by students of the secondary school named after V. I. Lenin. The authors of the best works were awarded with T-shirts and books. The school library received encyclopedias and fiction.
8 sets of posters on the types of animals, birds and plants listed in the Red Book of the Kyrgyz Republic were handed over to the schools for the design of the ecological corner.
