Clean-up in the Aigul-Too botanical reserve, village of Kara-Bulak, Batken region.
On April 29, 2021, a clean-up dedicated to the international environmental actions “World Earth Day” and “March of Parks” was held in the Aigul-Too botanical reserve in the village of Kara-Bulak, Batken district. This event is organized by the Aarhus Center within the framework of the project “Promoting a Green Economy and Environmental Management”. The clean-up was attended by representatives of the Batken Territorial Department of Environmental Protection, Batken Forestry, Osh City Committee for Youth Affairs, Batken District Committee for Youth Affairs, representatives of the Ermatov Secondary School. A total of 25 participants attended the event.
Isabaev, Director of the Aarhus Center, B. Ashyrkulov, Head of the Sary Tash forest section of the Batken Forestry Enterprise, and T. Ermatov, Director of the Ermatov Secondary School made speeches at the official opening of the clean-up.
In his speech, T. Ermatov stated that the leaders and members of the Green Patrols team of the Ermatov School, from the beginning of March to the end of April have been conducting daily explanatory and protection work in order to protect Aigul Too (protecting the Edward Grouse flower).
The Aarhus Center distributed stationery (notebooks, pens, folders) to members of the Green Patrol teams and information booklets on the World Earth Day and the March of Parks campaigns.
Isabaev told the participants about the activities of the center for the implementation of the Aarhus Convention in the Kyrgyz Republic. The specialists of the Aarhus Center Zayyrbekov A., Matisaev A. gave instructions on safety measures and focused on the purpose of the event.
At the end of the clean-up, participants were given three types of posters about animals, birds and plants listed in the Red Book of the Kyrgyz Republic, published by the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek.
At the end, K. Isabaev, expressed gratitude to the participants for their active participation in the clean-up and for their cooperation.
