Cleanup day in the Dendrological Park of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Tourism and Agricultural Technologies of Osh State University (Osh State University)

On April 9, 2024, a cleanup day dedicated to International Earth Day and the March of Parks was held in the Dendrological Park of the Faculty of Natural Science, Tourism and Agricultural Technologies (ETAT) of Osh State University.


The event was organized by the Aarhus Center in Osh as part of the project “Promoting Green Economy and Environmental Management” together with the Youth Affairs Committee of the Osh City Hall.
Representatives of the Youth Affairs Committee of the Osh City Hall, the dean’s office, teachers and students of the ETAT Faculty of Osh State University and specialists from the Osh regional department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic took part in the cleanup. In total, more than 30 people participated.


At the official opening of the cleanup day, the director of the Aarhus Center K. Isabaev, the chairman of the Youth Affairs Committee of the Osh City Hall, and the dean of the ETAT Faculty of Osh State University, Professor A. G. Nizamiev, spoke. They noted the importance of maintaining a clean environment and actively participating in various environmental activities.
Aarhus Center specialist A. Matisaev spoke in detail about the “March of Parks” and “International Earth Day”. He also called on participants to take part in an action to plant Tien Shan spruce, which will take place near the Chyiyrchyk pass.
In 2022, the Aarhus Center planted 71 birch seedlings in this arboretum as part of the Jashyl Muras initiative. This park was created by the public foundation “Tabiyat-Yug” in 1993 for use in educational and practical exercises, environmental campaigns and improvement of the environmental situation along the Ak-Buura River.
45 walnut seedlings were brought free of charge from the nursery of the Orchun Public Foundation in the Kara-Kuldzha region and planted in the arboretum.
The Aarhus Center thanked the participants in the cleanup and asked the dean of the faculty to preserve and protect the planted seedlings.
