On September 25, 2025, a conference on the topic “ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE: CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS” was held in Issyk-Kul. This event was aimed at discussing the work of the judicial system regarding the observance and protection of environmental rights in Kyrgyzstan.

Prior to the conference, the 3rd meeting of the members of the National Dialogue Platform (NDP) took place. Its members include the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Bar Association of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Aarhus Centre of the Kyrgyz Republic.

At this meeting, informational materials on the work of NDP members over the past period were reviewed, concerning environmental law, compliance with the Constitution, and activities carried out to ensure environmental justice. On behalf of the Aarhus Centre, the manager of the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Centre, S. Tursunakunov, gave a presentation, highlighting the activities of the network of Aarhus Centres and providing information on the work regarding Access to Justice in accordance with the principles of the Aarhus Convention.
