The kick-off seminar of the UNDP KR project took place

With the adoption of the Paris Agreement at the 21st Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC in December 2015, all agreements have been under the Transparency Frontier (TFR) for action and support under Article 13, with built-in flexibility that takes into account the different capabilities of Parties and draws on collective experience. The Paris Agreement sets out global action plans that put the world on a path to prevent dangerous climate change, limiting global warming to well below 2°C. Under this Plan, our country must make nationally determined commitments (NDCs) and revise its five-year plans to achieve global targets for reducing international greenhouse gases (GHGs).

The Ministry of Resources, Ecology and Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry), with the technical support of the United Nations Development Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic, is currently working on the preparation and submission of the Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1/BTR2) and the Fifth Communication (NC5) within the framework of the Paris Commitment adopted by the Framework Initiative of the Joint Committee on Climate Change (UNFCCC). In this regard, on February 27, 2025, a kick-off seminar was held in the hall of the Orion Hotel in Bishkek to launch the preparation of the “First Biennial Transparency Report of the Kyrgyz Republic on the UN Framework Implementation on Climate Change”. Representatives of government agencies, the parliamentary corps, the institute, and culture of the republic took part in this event.
