On November 15, 2024, the results of the environmental competition “Participate in Waste Recycling” were summed up at the Osh State Pedagogical University (OSPU).

This event was organized by the Aarhus Center of Osh within the framework of the project “Promoting Green Economy and Environmental Management” together with the MP “Osh-Tazalyk” and the Youth Affairs Committee of the Osh City Hall.

The event was attended by teachers, students of OSPU, Osh State University (OSU), Osh Technological University (OshTU), Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University (KUMU) and representatives of the school-gymnasium named after No. 17 Yuri Gagarin. A total of 39 people participated.

Faculties and departments conducted a preliminary selection of projects. Students and schoolchildren presented 7 projects on the following topics:

1) innovative methods of collecting household waste;

2) transportation;

3) storage or recycling of waste;

4) calculation of performance indicators;

5) method of implementing projects.

At the end, by decision of the jury, all participants were awarded valuable gifts and books from the OSCE PO in Bishkek and a cash prize from the Youth Affairs Committee of the Osh City Hall in the amount of 5,000 (five thousand) soms.

The participants of the event suggested to continue to hold events in order to attract young people to environmental protection.
