Training Youth in the Fundamentals of Respect for Nature
On September 16, 2025, a roundtable on the topic “The Role of Youth in Solving Environmental Problems. Increasing Environmental Literacy of Youth and Participation in Environmental Protection” was held in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul district. The event was organized by the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek.
The event was organized for 10th-grade students of the A. Osmonov school in Cholpon-Ata, with the participation of teachers from the school and staff from the Issyk-Kul Territorial Department (ITD) of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Presentations were given by M. Muratov, Deputy Head of the ITD; S. Tursunakov, Manager of the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center (IAC); and S. Orozogazieva, Assistant at the IAC. K. Ismailova, a biology teacher at the Osmonov school, also spoke about the contribution of school education to environmental preservation.
The roundtable took place in an educational atmosphere, utilizing various explanatory materials and video clips aimed at improving young people’s knowledge of environmental protection and fostering respect for nature.
