On September 18-19, 2020, the Aarhus Centres of Kyrgyzstan supported the environmental action “World Cleanup Day” and held subbotniks in the Chui, Issyk-Kul, Naryn and Talas regions. To organize these subbotniks, the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek purchased and handed over to the Aarhus Centres 150 shovels, 150 rakes, gloves and garbage bags. Volunteers from Aarhus Centers, civil activists, youth and the population of the regions took part in these events. During the subbotniks, the territories of city parks, streets and country roads, squares and recreation areas of the population of the districts were removed. All collected garbage was collected and transported to city and district dumps.
