A seminar was held in Ananyevo aiyl okmotu

On May 27, 2022, in the assembly hall of the Ananyevo village government of the Issyk-Kul district, with the financial support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, a round table was held on the topic “The role of the public in the implementation of the principles of the Aarhus Convention. Prevention of environmental problems in the regions, a key factor in social stability”, organized by the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center.

The purpose of the round table is to inform the public about the Aarhus Convention, about the principles of the convention, to discuss the environmental problems of the village of Ananyevo, to work together with government agencies on preserving the environment in its purest form.

The round table was attended by: Deputy Head of the Ananyevo Rural Administration B. Kurmankozhoev, Leading Specialist of the Issyk-Kul Territorial Administration under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecologoly and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic K. Minbaev, Head of Housing and Communal Services of the Ananiev Rural Administration Zhumabek uulu Adilet, employee of the Issyk-Kul police department, police major R.Medinov, deputies of the local kenesh, chairmen of district committees, youth, villagers in the amount of 34 people.

B. Kurmankozhoev, deputy head of the Ananyevo rural administration, made a welcoming speech, he expressed gratitude to the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center for organizing the round table.

The manager of the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center S. Tursunakunov made a presentation on the Aarhus Convention, on the activities of the center for 2020-2021.

During the consideration of questions and answers, the head of the housing and communal services of the Ananyevo rural administration, Zhumabek uulu Adilet, informed that today the main environmental problem in the village of Ananyevo is the problem of a garbage dump. Negotiations are underway with investors on the construction of a waste sorting plant. For these purposes, 6 hectares of land have been allocated on the territory of the Ananyevo rural administration and documents are being prepared.

In turn, the leading specialist of the Issyk-Kul Territorial Administration under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic K. Minbaev spoke about the recent changes in the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision. He spoke in detail about the activities of the Issyk-Kul Territorial Administration and answered questions from the participants.

An employee of the Issyk-Kul police department, police Major R. Medinov gave information about the newly created tourist and environmental police and its activities, which are based on work in two main areas – ensuring the safety of tourists and preventing environmental offenses. To date, 42 employees are working in the region. Over four months of work, 286 fishing nets with a total length of 28470 m were seized.

During the round table, the participants raised such issues as: obtaining a permit for cutting down trees, for fishing, increasing the number of jackals in the village of Ananyevo, checking the lands of the forestry due to tree disease, underwater cleaning of the rural beach, holding such round tables for wider coverage of environmental problems.

As a result of the round table, the following decisions were made:

  1. To inspect forests together with the Issyk-Kul Forestry, identify tree diseases and take appropriate measures.
  2. To offer the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center to conduct underwater cleaning of the rural beach of the village of Ananyevo.
  3. The relevant services should take measures to shoot the jackals.

According to the decisions taken, appeals will be sent to the relevant state bodies and responses will be given to the public.
