Another meeting of the Aarhus Centres in Europe
From 30 to 31 October 2025, the annual meeting of the Aarhus Centres for South-Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia was held in Vienna (Austria). It was attended by the heads of the Aarhus Centres (OCs) in Bishkek and Osh from Kyrgyzstan.
For 2 days, the meeting discussed issues “Course on capacity building on gender integration” (1 day), and on the second day (31 October) there was a meeting of representatives of the OoC.
During the second day of work on “Strengthening access to justice in environmental matters”, the head of the OC, Bishkek, Adil Nurbekov, gave information.
In his report, A.Nurbekov presented information on the activities of the OoC together with state structures, public organizations and independent experts in the field of jurisprudence on various legal environmental issues, including implementation of the principles of the Aarhus Convention. It includes activities ranging from various training and information trainings and public hearings to consultation meetings and assistance in the consideration of environmental rights complaints.
It should be noted that through such meetings OCs share their work experience, present their achievements and learn from others to apply in their activities. As a result, the meeting took place in an atmosphere of business interest and good faith to his work.
