On September 22, 2021, in the village of Bokonbaevo, Ton district, Issyk-Kul region, a meeting was held with directors of secondary schools in Ton district, organized by the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center and the district education department. The meeting was attended by representatives of all schools in the district.

The meeting was opened by the manager of the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center S.Tursunakunov, who told the participants about the basic concepts of the Aarhus Convention, about the activities of the Issyk-Kul Aarhus Center. In his speech, he announced the planned holding of the eco-contest “Nature and Us” among the students of the district schools from September 22 to October 22, 2021 and acquainted the participants with the terms of the competition.

The competition among students is held every year with the financial support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek. The purpose of this competition is to educate the younger generation to respect nature and preserve the environment in its pure form.
