On June 3, 2022, the Naryn Aarhus Center together with the Karatal Japyryk State Natural Reserve held a clean-up dedicated to World Environment Day.

The whole team of the state nature reserve “Karatal Zhapyryk”, students of the secondary school-gymnasium No. 2 named after V.P.Chkalov and employees of UCA (University of Central Asia) took part in the clean-up. The cleanup was held in the lower and upper parts of the Ak-Kyya section and was held under the name “Clean Mountains-2022”. The number of participants was 18 people, of which 4 were women and 14 were men. More than 15 bags of garbage (about 300 kg) were collected. The collected garbage was transported to the city dump. In conclusion, the director of the SNR “Karatal Zhapyryk” Choroev B. thanked the participants and the Aarhus Center for their active participation in the clean-up and wished to strengthen cooperation in preserving the environment in its purest form.
