An action on planting seedlings at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University (KUIU) named after B. Sydykov

On March 31, 2023, in the framework of the national campaign “Green Heritage”, an action on planting seedlings was held at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University (KUIU), timed to “World Earth Day” and “March of Parks”.

The event was organized by the Aarhus Center in Osh within the framework of the OSCE project “Promotion of Green Economy and Environmental Management” jointly with the Osh, Jalal-Abad Regional Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Youth Affairs Committee of the Osh City Hall, Eco Tartip NGO and Nookat Forestry.

The action was attended by representatives of the above institutions, NGO “Eco Tartip” Nookatsky district, the rector’s office, teachers of the Faculty of Humanities and Pedagogy and students of KUIU, journalists of ElTR, Yntymak shopping mall, Echo-Osha newspapers. A total of 76 people participated.

At the official opening of the action, the director of the Aarhus Center K. Isabaev, rector of KUIU Ch. K. Rayymbayev and Professor Zh. Samieva, head of the ODRM MNRETS KR A. A. Chynkaraev, Chairman of the Committee on Youth Affairs of the Osh City Hall Zh. Zhusupbekov, head of the NGO “Eco Tartip” Nookatsky district A. Totonov, editor of the Echo-Osha newspaper, member of the Advisory Council at the Aarhus Center A. Karakozuev. They called on young people and students to actively participate in various environmental activities and take care of nature.

Aarhus Center specialist A. Matisaev told the students in detail about the national action “Green Heritage”, “March of Parks” and “International Earth Day”.

For active participation and contribution to holding actions organized as part of the Green Heritage national campaign in 2022-2023, the rector of KUMU Ch.K. Raiymbaev presented a letter of thanks to the head of the Eco Tartip NGO A. Totonov. A. Saparbai uulu, T. Bakytbek uulu, S. Saparbai uulu, A. Abytbek uulu and K. Maripov, members of the Eco Tartip NGO of the Nookat region, were awarded certificates of honor from the Aarhus Center and the Youth Committee of the Osh City Hall.

During the campaign, more than 60 different seedlings (birch, Tien Shan spruce and juniper) were planted.

Journalists of ElTR, Yntymak TV and radio companies and Echo-Osh newspapers have prepared special information programs to inform the population.

At the end of the action, the organizers expressed gratitude to the participants of the action and readiness for cooperation in ensuring environmental safety and environmental protection. Students were also encouraged to actively participate in upcoming environmental events for youth and students.
