On October 8, 2024, the Aarhus Centre in Bishkek held a seminar for students of the Kyrgyz National University named after Balasagyn on the topic “Environmental education among young people is one of the most important areas within the framework of the Aarhus Convention”. The seminar was held with the assistance of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek and the leadership of the Faculty of Geography, Ecology and Tourism of the Kyrgyz National University.

The guest of this event was the director of CAREC KR Matraimov K., who presented a presentation on the activities of CAREC in the region. He was asked many questions and proposals for cooperation.

The Aarhus Center itself, represented by its director, presented an informational presentation on the activities of the network of Aarhus Centers of Kyrgyzstan on work with youth. Both students of the faculty and the faculty took part in the discussion of the presented presentations.

At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed gratitude for holding the event and proposed holding a scientific and practical conference for the entire university on environmental issues and environmental education.
